Senior Advocate Kapil Sibal has won the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) presidential election, securing 1,066 votes against rival Pradeep Rai. This marks Sibal’s fourth term as SCBA President, with previous terms in 1995-96, 1997-98, and 2001. A Harvard Law School graduate and former Additional Solicitor General of India (1989-90), Sibal’s victory was announced following the May 16 elections. Current SCBA officials include President Adish Aggarwala and Vice-President Pradeep Rai. The SCBA has mandated reserving the treasurer post for women in the 2024-2025 elections.
