In 1997, Sunny Deol starrer ‘Border’ became an all-time blockbuster. Now, the announcement of its sequel, ‘Border 2’, has been made. Sunny himself shared the announcement video on social media, reaffirming a soldier’s 27-year-old promise to return. Directed by JP Dutta, who helmed the original, and produced by Bhushan Kumar and others, the film will be directed by Anurag Singh. Speculations hint at Ayushmann Khurrana joining the cast alongside Sunny Deol. Shooting commences in October, with expectations of a 2026 release, possibly on Republic Day. ‘Border 2’ aims to replicate its predecessor’s success, which grossed ₹66 crore against a ₹10 crore budget.
