In a shocking incident in Mumbai, Dr. Orlem Brandon Serrao ordered ice cream online and discovered a human finger as an unexpected “topping.” Living in Malad, Dr. Serrao had asked his sister to include ice cream in their grocery order. While enjoying his butterscotch cone from the Yummo brand, he felt a hard piece in his mouth. Initially thinking it was a nut, he spat it out, only to find a human finger.
A photo shared online shows the finger protruding from the ice cream. In a video statement, Dr. Serrao described his traumatic experience, stating he was fortunate not to swallow it. He recognized the finger due to his medical expertise, noting the nails and fingerprint impressions.
He immediately preserved the finger in an ice pack and reported the incident to the Malad police. A case has been registered against Yummo for food adulteration and endangering human life. The ice cream and finger are under forensic investigation, with authorities suspecting a larger crime.
Yummo Ice Creams, launched in 2012 and co-founded by Walko Food Co. Ltd., now faces serious scrutiny.
