GUNTUR: Narasaraopet police have arrested a man for posting a video on social media that incited hatred between political parties. The accused, residing within Narasaraopet Two Town police station limits, used obscene language in the video. Palnadu district Superintendent of Police Malika Garg confirmed that a case was registered and the individual was referencing the current political situation. The SP warned that strict action would be taken against anyone posting hateful content on social media, holding group admins responsible for such posts.
In a related incident in Sattenapalli, a known troublemaker attacked a political party office’s watchman, threatening arson. He was arrested and jailed, with the SP warning that disruptive individuals with criminal histories would face severe legal action, including the PD Act.
Due to Section 144 implementation, no rallies, loudspeakers, or cultural programs are allowed on June 1 for Hanuman Jayanti. Businesses must close by 5 PM, and the public is advised to stay indoors and avoid group gatherings. The SP emphasized cooperation with police to maintain law and order.
